White House OSTP STEM Budget Briefing this Monday

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) will hold a briefing on the research, development, and STEM initiatives that will be contained in the President 2013 Budget Proposal. This briefing will be this upcoming Monday, February 13 at 1:30 PM at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). OSTP will also be streaming the briefing live as a public service announcement by AAAS: http://www.aaas.org/go/ostp.

 

Along with the announcement for the President’s plan to create 1 million new STEM graduates in 10 years, the big announcement at the President’s remarks at the White House Science Fair was the inclusion of $80 million set aside for a STEM teacher preparation programs in the FY2013 Budget.

 

We are very interested in the details of this budget proposal. Speakers include:

  • Carl Wieman, Associate Director for Science, OSTP
  • Patrick Gallagher, Director of NIST
  • Subra Suresh, Director of NSF
  • David Sandalow, Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs, DOE
