We’re going to the #NASAtweetup w/ @Astro_Ron

February 6, 2012

We were holding our breath on the wait-list this past week, but today @STEMconnector was selected to participate in the #NASAtweetup event at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC this upcoming Valentine’s Day.  We simply cannot wait to spend the day with Astronaut Ron Garan at NASA HQ. Judging from the unofficial @Astro_Ron member list on twitter, we’ll be joined by some of our twitter friends!  Let us know on twitter if you’re going, and if you’re on the wait-list- good luck!

For those unable to attend- @STEMconnector has got you covered. We’ll be live tweeting the event and posting some takeaways on the blog!

Information on Ron Garan from the NASA tweetup website:
Garan spent 164 days in space during the Expedition 27 and Expedition 28 missions to the International Space Station. He and his crewmates launched April 4, 2011, and returned to Earth on Sept. 15, 2011. Aboard the station, the crew worked on a variety of microgravity experiments and hosted two space shuttle missions, including the last shuttle to visit the station. Garan also participated in the last space-shuttle-based spacewalk during the STS-135 mission.

During his time in space, Garan shared his experiences and images he took of Earth from the space station via his Twitter account, @Astro_Ron, and his Fragile Oasis blog.
