Carnegie Science Center’s Chevron Center

Chevron and six Pittsburg regional companies gave $1 million to fund a Carnegie Science Center’s Chevron Center for STEM Education and Career Development.  The goal of the STEM center is to encourage young people to pursue STEM education and careers.

The STEM center will unite all of the current Carnegie Science Center’s STEM programs in a new organizational structure and will be amazing resource for area STEM teachers and students. According to its website, the “Carnegie Science Center’s Chevron Center for STEM Education and Career Development provides a focused forum for collaboration among key STEM education stakeholders, including:

  • pre K-12 school districts
  • Pennsylvania Intermediate Units
  • colleges and universities
  • technical schools
  • business and industry
  • workforce and career development organizations
  • economic development organizations
  • government
  • parents and caregivers
  • informal education providers”
