STEMConnector™ features 279 #STEM Competitions (and growing!)

December 6, 2011

Did you know you have instant access to 279 (and growing!) STEM Education-related contests and competitions across the U.S.  Go to the’s Competitions and Contests Directory to explore!  Here are a few examples of the many exciting STEM competitions, fairs, and contests found at STEMConnector™ and the amazing prizes, awards, and scholarships they offer:

Team America Rocketry Challenge:

Approximately 7,000 students from across the nation compete in TARC each year. Teams design, build and fly a model rocket that reaches a specific altitude and duration determined by a set of rules developed each year. The contest is designed to encourage students to study math and science and pursue careers in aerospace.

FIRST Robotics:

For students aged 6-18, it’s the hardest fun you’ll ever have. For team mentors, coaches, and volunteers, it’s the most rewarding adventure you’ll ever undertake. For sponsors, it’s the most enlightened investment you could ever make. FIRST is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization devoted to helping young people discover and develop a passion for science, engineering, technology, and math. Founded over 20 years ago by inventor Dean Kamen, the 2009-2010 FIRST season attracted more than 210,000 youth and more than 90,000 mentors, coaches, and volunteers from 56 countries. The annual programs culminate in an international robotics competition and celebration where teams win recognition, gain self confidence, develop people and life skills, make new friends, and perhaps discover an unforeseen career path.

eCYBERMISSION is a free, web-based Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics competition for students in grades six through nine where teams can compete for state, regional and national awards while working to solve problems in their community. eCYBERMISSION is a program developed out of the US Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), which, in addition to eCYBERMISSION, hosts many other STEM competitions, internship opportunities at Army Research Labs, and more!
