Recycling For Good

Who would have thought that an old water bottle could light up a room? If you understand the basic properties of light refraction, then maybe you would think just that. In Manila, Philippines, water bottles filled with a combination of water and bleach are being used to illuminate formerly dark homes. This simple solution provides light to people who need it but cannot afford (or access) electricity. Knowledge of basic light mechanics was able to improve the lives of many…what a bright idea!
